The Heart of Our Community
Established in 2024, Afghan Community Exeter CIC was born from a profound need for structured, culturally informed support. We exist to bridge the gaps between our community and the wider Exeter society, ensuring that every individual feels welcomed, valued, and equipped to thrive. Through practical guidance and cultural celebration, we are building a resilient future together.
We exist to make sure no Afghan family in Exeter feels alone on their journey.

Mr G H G Said (Haydar)

MR Fasihullah Hakimi
Mr Said studied English and Maths and later earned a qualification in Digital Marketing from Exeter College. He also studied Mechanical Engineering in Afghanistan before moving to the UK.
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Studied agriculture in Afghanistan and has lived in Exeter since 2001. He is a trustee of the Exeter Mosque & Cultural Centre.
Mr Sayed Rohani

Mr Roahani is a respected member of the community known for his contributions to local sports, including football and volleyball.
Mr Abuzar Changuizi
Executive Director
Mr Abuzar studied in Afghanistan and now lives in Exeter. With 26 years of experience, he is a self-employed Hackney carriage driver.
Mr Arash TAGIN
Executive Director
Mr Tagin completed his secondary education and studied medicine in Afghanistan. He has lived in Exeter for the past 25 years and is a dedicated community member, committed to inspiring others through his efforts.

Mr Abdulrahman Shinwari

Dr Mujib Khalil
Mr Farzad Stanikzai
Mr Shinwari was born in Afghanistan and moved to the UK in 2002 after completing his schooling and Islamic studies in Afghanistan and Pakistan, where he specialised in Hifz and Tajwid at Markazi Darulqura. He later worked for 16 years as an Imam at Kuwait Hospital in Pakistan, also overseeing kitchen accounts and expenses, gaining experience in leadership and community service. He now lives in the UK and works as a taxi driver, continuing to value hard work and service to others.

Dr Khalil has completed his medical studies in Afghanistan and has worked in several hospitals across the country. His hard work has now led him to the NHS in the UK.

Mr Farzad is a Veterinary Science graduate from Afghanistan, currently based in Exeter, UK, working towards his UK veterinary qualification. He is actively involved in the Afghan community, with a focus on youth engagement, community development, and promoting cultural unity and support.

Mr Abass Omrani
Mr Ahmed completed his studies in Afghanistan and has been living and working in Exeter since 2001. His ambition is to strengthen communication within the community. He is a self-employed private hire driver.
Board Member
Mr Malik is a respected member of the community. He completed his basic education in Afghanistan and moved to the UK in 2000. He is a valued member of our community, and his ambition is to help strengthen and support it further.
Board Member
Mr Omrani is a well-regarded and active member of the community. He received his early education in Afghanistan before relocating to the UK in 2001. Since then, he has been a positive presence in the community, and he is dedicated to contributing toward its growth and unity.
Ustad Amin
Community Support Assistant
Provides valuable support in the day to day operations of our community by assisting with serving, maintaining cleanliness, washing dishes, and helping wherever needed. Their dedication and willingness to serve contribute to creating a welcoming, organised, and pleasant environment for everyone.
